Before and After

This is the story of how we accidentally flipped a house.

Welcome back!
Our house went on the market for sale today so I thought it would be fun to compare the listings.
I'm also going to link you to some appropriate blog posts for each room.

Let's start with the outside of the house.

There's no blog post for this room, but we replaced the lights in the living and dinning areas, painted, and replaced the light switches with white decorator switches.

One of the biggest changes in the house was the kitchen.

This was our bedroom. Jeffery painted when we first moved in, and then recently replaced the windows.

The windows are a vast improvement in all the bedrooms.

Who remembers the upstairs bathroom and the blue bathtub?

Part of the laundry room was done when we did the basement stuff. The rest was finished up when Jeffery speed finished the house this past week and I don't have progress pictures of that. :(

I've noticed that real estate agents tend to not add the worst parts of the house in their listings. Here is all they showed us of the basement. But you and I both know that there was a lot wrong down there.

They declined to add a photo of the backyard, but they did include a photo of the deck.

This house has been through a lot of changes. We bought it when we were still newlyweds, when it was just the two of us (and the dogs). We brought our two boys home to it. Leaving is bittersweet. Our family is growing and we're running out of room. We're on to grander adventures.

Of course I will continue to share things about our house here on the blog, however the nature of the posts will probably change. We'll have small home improvement projects to share, but probably nothing as massive as this under taking.

As always,
Thanks for stopping by!
