Howdy.
Do any of you remember the kitchen when we moved in 4 years ago?
How about what it looks like now?
Well, we decided we needed a change. Time for our dream kitchen. Grab yourself a beverage and enjoy the process.
Step One: Tear the whole kitchen out.
We decided the wall by the fridge needed to get cut back a bit to allow the fridge door to open completely.
We decided all the soffit needed to come down including the stuff that separated the dining room and kitchen to open it up more. (seen below) Turns out the ceiling texture continued underneath. Someone decided years ago to close off this room more.
Thought we'd share the wallpaper that had blessed this room at one time.
We took this room down to the bones. (Well mostly Jeffery did. I end up being pregnant for all these huge projects.)
New plumbing.
And new insulation where needed.
My brother came over and learned how to drywall.
New window put in place.
Water was plumbed to the fridge so we could finally have immediately available cold filtered water and an ice maker.
Drywall done!
Henry graced us with his presence. Lowe's trip for mud, paint, and cabinet ordering.
Walls all done and ready for cabinets. The ugly florescent light was removed as well.
Top row of cabinets are hung.
Bottoms put in place. This floor tile is the same as what is down in our wet bar. We wouldn't have chosen this for our dream kitchen, however this is the spot in our build where we found out we'd be moving out of our house.
This couldn't have been done without Calvin. We bought ourselves a new stove and fridge to go in our dream kitchen.
Got a steal on our new fridge.

New light in the kitchen.
We picked a cheap granite option, and though it looks really nice, it isn't a choice we would have gone with for ourselves.
I wasn't there for the install. It was done by a professional. Here is the new window with trim up and painted.
And all finished!
Thanks for stopping by!
