Tada!

Hi there.
Sorry I kind of skipped right over finishing up the drywall, you'll have to forgive me. I tried not to go inhale a bunch of drywall dust. I'm starting you out with primed walls and ceiling paint finished,

We got the can lights in place and it really brightened up the room. This also meant we could get rid of the hot work lights.

These are the two lights over the projector area.

Once we primed we were going to paint, but we decided we'd put the sub-floor down while the ceiling paint cured. This is more of that dry core, like we used for the sewing room.

Jeffery's hammering them together to keep them nice and tight.

This is wet bar wall, I wanted to get some photos of before the paint, since I didn't get any of the finished drywall before the primer. You can also see down here what I did while Jeffery did all the hard work. I used a rolling chair to bring drycore in from the garage for him.

Drycore all laid down, leveled, and hammered tight together.

Now painter's tape. The best painter's tape is definitely Frog Tape. In our opinion you can't get crisper lines from any other tape.

We kept the back wall white for where we'll be projecting. We actually quite like how that looks, and aren't sure what we're going to do with it yet. We thought about framing around the area that will be projected onto, since the whole wall won't be filled.

I have never seen Jeffery get so frustrated with a diy as he did with hanging these cabinets. It doesn't help that I'm pretty terrible at screwing things in, and not allowed to be doing any heavy lifting. There were some angry words.

Once the cabinets were hung on the wall and before we could place the cabinets on the floor, Jeffery added the face plates to all the wiring.

Where our computers will be plugged into for internet. The cable runs all the way back to the furnace room, where we'll be moving the modem and router.

Tile down, pregrout.

And grouted.

After the grout dried we could finish up the cabinets. The bottoms were a ton easier. The counter top did end up scuffing the wall a little bit but some quick patching and painting and no one knows :)

Jeffery's got the guide for the sink taped down and ready to cut.

I mostly was here for moral support. Just way too sore these days to be much help.

Sink and faucet. It's the same faucet as we put in the kitchen upstairs.

Our super awesome mini fridge. It has a lock on it too, so Calvin (due in 4.5 weeks) won't be able to open it when he starts being mobile.

There is an outlet for this cabinet so that we can have power for some under cabinet lighting we don't have yet. :)

With the power on. Except one issue, the GFCI outlet we picked up at Lowe's was dead. So we had to swap out.

Mini fridge closed.

We haven't decided what we're going to do about the wall yet. We were going to do backsplash, kind of like we planned to do backsplash in the kitchen. But then we end up feeling like it might be too busy. So I think we're going to just end up painting it and then seeing what we think from there.

Jeffery and I forgot to add a piece of wood in between floor joists for hanging the projector because we're idiots. So instead, we needed to make something to branch the two joists and didn't look as bad as the 2x4 we had been using. He used his router to create these. They're going to be painted the ceiling color, and hopefully that will work fine. But we're both morons for forgetting that.

We had purchased carpet at Lowe's but had to finish up to this point before they could install. Installation came free with the carpet, and was the quickest carpet install I've ever witnessed. I guess things go quicker when it's not just your Dad using his knee to kick the carpet tight, and it's a couple guys who do it for a living and have fancy tools.

Julie is pretty happy with the result. The poor thing hates hard flooring. She sniffed around with her little tail wagging and rolled all over it.

Now all we have left to do is some trim work, I need to make curtains, and then we'll move stuff into the room and I'll take more pictures when that happens. Next on the list is fixing some holes and painting the walls of Calvin's nursery. There will be pictures of that too, hopefully we can get it done before he decides to arrive!

Thanks for stopping by!
