This room is a room

Hi there!

My goofy husband posed for a photo before he started painting the ceiling.  A task specially designed for the tall folk.

Now he's hard at work. Rolling on the white paint.

I just kept him company through the ceiling painting.

We cleaned up a bit while the ceiling paint dried and then he installed the bulb portion of the recessed lighting. (Remember folks.. we did not test the electrical prior to putting up all the drywall... which could end up very bad.)

So basically there's a can that goes into the ceiling and then the bulb is the fancy bit. It's on a cord like seen below.

Placing the second one into it's spot.

And now he has frog tape he's putting up on the ceiling. This stuff is the best.

A look at the paint color!

Jeffery cuts in the corners while I roll it smooth behind him.

He rolls the hard to reach areas for me.

The wall is all painted and now to remove the tape. Jeffery's going over it with a utility knife in the place we let dry a little too long so that there is no peeling of the paint.

Next a cover goes onto that box where he had to cut and reattach the electrical.

And a vent cover to hide the water access. We're so resourceful.

In the process of drying.

Dry but not cured. We decided to go ahead and clean the room and start on the floor.

This picture is the most accurate representation of the color of the room.

We cut up the carpet and linoleum that was still here where we needed to floor. Thankfully we already have plans to replace the remaining carpet because we found some nasties that probably reside under more of the carpet.

The nasties are why we are applying DRIcore on top of the concrete. This is an OSB wood with a plastic bottom. The plastic is shaped almost like a cleat, for airflow and mold pervention.

The pieces fit together with a tongue and groove.

Finished with the DRIcore!

Next we put down this sheet. It helps with warmth, moisture protection, and sound proofing.

Just cut it and tape the seams.

Then we decided we might as well finish the floor. This goes down really quickly.

This is how far we got before we decided it was time for bed.

Laying down the last piece.

A view inside the closet.

I vacuumed up the floor before we put the doors in their spots.

Jeffery measured and cut the doors.

Setting in the frame.

He messed around a bit with shims to get the door straight.

And repeat twice more.

And then I moved my sewing machine downstairs and made myself a curtain.
