Hi there!
We ran into a few financial bumps in the road, and I started college so progress slowed WAY down on the basement. Remember how I said that the next time you saw the downstairs it would be ready to paint?
Well it's ready.. but you don't get to see until the end of the post. :)
We figured we'd take the easy way out and instead of rip down the preexisting drywall we'd just attach more. Here it is with liquid nails, ready for us to lift the new drywall up.
The drywall is up and secure there. (The pole to the right did end up having drywall built around it but I failed to capture any photos of that. Sorry :( )
Here Jeffery had to leave access to the large water pipe. He went a little happy on the foam insulation and it came out the bottom. Which was of course removed.
Here Jeffery is liquid nailing pieces of wood to the sides of the vent for a place to attach the cover.
Now we don't just have hot air pouring out into the room.
The view out to the computer room from the sewing room.
And in from the same spot.
Marking the room as our own.
Jeffery decided to rip out this weird spot in the wall up the stairs.
I'm not sure why he did this but he does get a little A.D.D at times.
The view from the stairs.
We actually really like the top portion open like that. It makes the stairway look a little larger.
Now we are switching tasks really quick. I know we promised not to work on anything else until this basement project was done, however our front door was extremely drafty and we had some 60 degree weather, so we replaced it.
Before Paint Job.
Setting up to paint.
Mid Paint Job.
After Paint Job.
The previous front door, sans storm door.
Door removed.
He pulled out the wood that was sitting on the foundation because it wasn't pressure treated and was moldy.
Julie watched the process. Zev barked from his crate, and Arthas enjoyed the fenced in yard.
Ram setting the new pressure treated wood.
A beautiful new door. We will be installing a kick plate to it eventually. We will also be painting the trim a different color come summer, and I'll be replacing the numbers on the house to match the brushed brass.
From the inside.
Okay back to the basement!
After much mud, sanding, and cleaning the walls are ready to prime.
First coat
First coat
Second coat
Two coats in the furnace room.
And two coats in the sewing room.
Tune in soon for when we paint and install the flooring!
Thanks for stopping by!

Looks awesome. Wish I could see it.
