Fill and Paint

Hi there! It's been a while.
We've been busy, making progress slowly, lots of primer, lots of paint, lots of wood filler.

Jeffery made the little cabinet beside the dishwasher.

And he made the foundation for the counter top over where the microwave used to be... I'm going to start refering to this as the stand  mixer area.. because that's what it is..

I got busy with the wood glue.

These slits will be gone! I swear it!

Arthas got busy watching us.. and using Mr. Monk as a pillow.

Then I got busy with some artsy fartsy stuff.

We spent a good deal of time looking like this.. we sanded and sanded and sanded and he's still sanding. Then I cleaned all the cabinets forever, until my arm died.

Jeffery fixed up the wiring to the microwave.. it's on it's own circuit now.. instead of sharing with not only the furnace room lights, but all of the power to our bedroom and the empty room. (empty room is basically just housing the doors to the cabinets)

Then he got busy making the area ready for the microwave.

We picked up all the tile for our countertops. Also a sink, faucet, and paint.

There's a look at the tile.

Okay here's the progress on the cabinets so far...

Sans primer. Post sand.

Primed and ready for paint.

Inside is all painted now I just have to wait 24 hours so I can tape the insides and paint the outsides.

(Note the swatch of color on that wall.)

The color inside the cabinets is Valspar's Grey Silt.

The color on the wall is Valspar's Oatland's Subtle Taupe.
(We like it so we're probably going to go with that for the walls)

We're starting to put the kitchen back together.. soon I'll be able to unpack my stuff!

Thanks for stopping by! -Em

p.s. we're thinking this for the backsplash..
