Tour

Hi there!

It’s been a while, we’ve been busy packing, moving, and cleaning. I have some free time to give you a small house tour. (It’s messy. You’ll have to forgive me.)

For the time being we’re going to be living out of boxes, and it’s driving me crazy!

We’ll start off in the kitchen. You can see to the right of the window I slapped some paint on a cabinet. I’m loving the white, however I change my mind about wall and counter colors every other day. :)The counter tops are exactly the same as the ones my parents had when I was much younger, and it’s slightly bitter sweet to be getting rid of them. (Note the wooden pillar that is coming DOWN!! Also double oven, double oven.)

To the right we have the dining room featuring our fancy clearance table and Walmart chairs. The door goes to the backyard. (Fancy new dishes. Thanks Mom!)

Continuing around to the right we find the husky in his natural habitat. This is the living room. Originally I was going to pull out the white bookshelf, however it’s grown on me and I’m not sure there’s hardwood under it, so instead I think I might pull out the metal railing that’s hiding behind the piano and put a wood one to go with the bookshelf. (This window is essentially the doorway to bird heaven. I’m constantly being startled by loud thudding. I swear to you there are chalk outlines on the pathway below it. ;))

A super boring hallway.

The first right door in the hallway takes you into the unnamed room, but it’ll clearly be a nursery when we eventually spawn a gremlin.

Across the hallway is our super fancy bathroom, complete with a blue bathtub and gold fixtures. (Will not stay this fancy forever.)

The second right takes you into our bedroom. The bed is on the floor right now, we’re too lazy to lift it up.

Across the hallway is the guest room. Or what Mom calls, “Her room.” (Mom, the bed just needs pillows, you’re welcome to come visit.)

Okay, backtrack a little bit to the stairwell again.

The blue panel on the left isn’t actually a wall, it’s coming down and may be replaced with a built in shoe shelf. Also note the amazing stairs. I’m not showing you how poorly they’re held together. (There may or may not be gaps.)

To the left is this super blue laundry room. Storage space over on the left wall currently filled with Christmas decor.

Straight ahead is the furnace room and the way to the garage, it isn’t pictured, because I didn’t feel like getting my bare feet dirty.

To the right is where the office will be set up…

And around the corner to the left is where we’re going to set up a home theater.

Also not pictured is the sewing room, because the lights don’t want to work for me. Also the dogs were following me and the pet mouse is in there on the floor, so I didn’t want Arthas (the husky pictured above) to pester her.
