Before and After

This is the story of how we accidentally flipped a house. Welcome back!  Our house went on the market for sale today so I thought it would be fun to compare the listings. I'm also going to link you to some appropriate blog posts for each room. Let's start with the outside of the house.       We pulled out the hedges , replaced the door, and replaced the windows.    There's no blog post for this room, but we replaced the lights in the living and dinning areas, painted, and replaced the light switches with white decorator switches. One of the biggest changes in the house was the kitchen. When we moved in we made the kitchen workable. Then the second kitchen project Jeffery took it down to the studs. This was our bedroom. Jeffery painted when we first moved in, and then recently replaced the windows. The windows are a vast improvement i...

Kitchen Remix

Howdy. Do any of you remember the kitchen when we moved in 4 years ago?    How about what it looks like now? Well, we decided we needed a change. Time for our dream kitchen. Grab yourself a beverage and enjoy the process. Step One: Tear the whole kitchen out. We decided the wall by the fridge needed to get cut back a bit to allow the fridge door to open completely. Someone decided years ago to close off this room more. Thought we'd share the wallpaper that had blessed this room at one time. We took this room down to the bones. (Well mostly Jeffery did. I end up being pregnant for all these huge projects.)   New plumbing. And new insulation where needed. My brother came over and learned how to...

Windows

Hello friends. Welcome back. Lots of things going on in the house. Let's start with window replacements. We decided it was time to replace the old windows in the house with some new more efficient ones. I'll show you most of the news ones in the post.  Here's one of our bedroom windows.    Jeffery started the project by tearing apart one of our windows to see how big the space was that we needed for a replacement window.  As it turns out no one carried the window size we had it had to be special ordered, so instead we decided to cut hole bigger. We replaced all the bedroom windows with larger ones.   Adding a new spot to nail the window in place.   Two nice big windows in our room.   Trim added and painted. (The room is empty, we'll come back to that in another post.) Calvin's room. Henry's room. Obviously this living room window needed to be special ord...
