A few years ago I wrote a post entitled, "Before and After" which told the story of how we accidentally flipped a house. Well, we did it again.
For those who don't know, Jeffery and I are selling our house, in fact it is under contract right now as I write about it. We had several offers to choose from, wrote down several points on each offer, and went with the one we felt would work best for our family. But why? Why are we selling this home we've poured so much time and money into?
Well, we've decided to change the direction our lives were headed. We are opting for a simpler life. We simply have too much house, and not enough time. I want to spend more time with my kids, and less time tidying. Jeffery, he wants to start his own business and be able to take more time off to travel and be with family. And wouldn't you know it, he's going to start a carpentry business. In the meantime, we won't be able to afford this house. The current real estate market is perfect for us to get enough money out of the house to make our dreams a reality.
This was our five year plan, however there are some other external factors and I won't get into the nitty gritty of here. But it means we are just pushing our plan ahead a little bit.
So what's next? Where are we going after the house sells?
That's a great question. There is nothing totally set in stone right now. Here is our hope though:
We're hoping the right RV is available when we close on the house. We're hoping 5+ acres of the right land gets listed on the market. If the house sale goes smoothly, we should have a decent amount of capital to buy an RV, some land, and build ourselves a home from the ground up. We'd like to have more space for our family, we'd like to grow our own food, and raise some animals.
I'm very much looking forward to future posts detailing our adventure in building our own home.
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Everyone loves before and after photos. I'm working on a second post with those. I probably won't write much, and just let Jeffery's work speak for itself. He is amazing at executing my creative visions and I'm proud to be his wife.
