Dining Room

Hello, welcome back. It's been a while since I've posted but don't worry we're keeping busy. We did some stuff around the yard, chopping down trees, yanking out rose bushes, pressure washing the driveway, oh and digging up and fixing the leech field. I won't bore you anymore with that stuff, let's get rid of some more blue paint.

Take a look at the ceiling where Jeffery swatched white paint for laughs.

There we go, an appropriate ceiling color for the modern family. Primer on the walls ready to accept the boldest paint choice in the house so far.

Spot Calvin and Henry being super helpful throughout this post.

Calvin says, "Wow that's really red." This paint color is Valspar "In the Red."

Well no turning back now.

You might be thinking, "But Em, there's still blue paint on that wall, it's not even covered with primer."

Yes you're right, but just trust us, we know what we're doing.

Now to help with work lighting (and to give Jeffery brain damage every time he forgets there's a light hanging above him when he goes to do flooring) a new chandelier.

 Arthas and Julie approved.

See what I mean? We had a plan for the bottom of this wall. Some classic wainscotting to dress the room up and break up the dark wall.

Interior designers everywhere are shaking at my natural talent.

"Chair rail? When did that go up? It just appeared out of nowhere!"
I promise Jeffery tacked it up, I just didn't take a picture, or couldn't find the picture.

With only the flooring left to do this is where we stopped and moved onto the living room. The plan was to do both rooms so we could floor all at once. I'll continue this post on the dining room though and you'll probably get some sneak peaks of the living room if you keep reading on.

While Jeffery was installing our new front door dead bolt I pulled up the click lock. We got to work screwing down the subfloor (to silence the squeaking from it moving on the old nails) and Jeffery planed the area coming in from the kitchen where there was a big ol' hump. (We had this issue in the living room too but that was due to a joist being higher than the others.)

Can you see the rug we picked for under the table in the other room? Once the first few rows went down the rest was quick.

After the boys went to bed we got holes filled and the bottom trim ready for a second coat of paint.

Then the next day we got the new vent in, the rug in and the table in. That's all she wrote for the dining room.

As always,
Thanks for stopping by!
-Em
