Wedding Anniversary 2019

On Sunday May 26th, we celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary.

When we were first moving to Nebraska we were told that if we liked doing outdoors stuff we would love Nebraska. We laugh at that now because there really isn't anything to do outside in Nebraska. Where we live now in East Tennessee is more lush and green than the Mahoney State Park is and the forest in Bellevue required an $11 entrance fee per adult and $8 for Calvin.

Usually when we go on a hike we travel south to the National Park. I asked if we could go check out the National Recreation Area. So we traveled north a couple of hours to Big South Fork for our anniversary. The kids napped on the way up so it was a peaceful drive. You can't go far in East Tennessee without seeing something beautiful. We took state road instead of interstate on the way up, but even on the interstate on the way back, the scenery is just stunning.

In Big South Fork we decided to take an easy trail so Calvin would be able to hike on his own. We did a 4 mile there and back called Angel Falls trail. Angel Falls trail takes you down a path in the woods and out a small waterfall.

This is the pathway cut through the trees. It was a 90 degree day but felt way cooler in the shade. This would have been a pretty good trail for running on.

I'm not sure why I have this cheesy face on. Calvin's looking out to the river. He loves going on hikes.

The path ends in the woods and the view isn't great from there so we ventured down for a closer look of the falls.

I couldn't imagine a better man to spend these moments with.

We took turns carrying kids. When Calvin got tired of walking he wanted me to carry him so Jeffery strapped Henry to his back and I carried Calvin. It's funny how kids can be completely out of energy but as soon as they see something fun they perk right back up. When we got back there was a beach to play on and Calvin was splashing in the water like he hadn't just been crying about being tired for the last 2 miles.

We had McDonald's for dinner (there wasn't much for food in town), and then stopped off an exit because we wanted to know what the tunnel we were being warned about looked like. That tunnel was another 40 miles from the exit so we didn't end up seeing it but we did find somewhere to check out at a later date. Cove Lake State Park.

I can't believe it's been 6 years since we got married. This coming January will be 10 years since we started dating. It's starting to feel like I've known Jeffery my entire life. I am glad for his company. I told him the other day I couldn't wait until he retires because I like being able to spend whole days together. Between work, kids, and home improvement projects we don't always get a lot of time together. I truly value this quality time. <3

(Thanks for letting me steal all the pictures you took)
