Deck

Hi there! So this project has been done for a while but I haven't gotten around to posting anything on it yet. Anyway... Here it is finally. Unfortunately the pictures aren't all from my camera and are mostly from Jeffery's phone. During the building of the deck I was sleeping. I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to really help him and so the pictures I have are ones he sent to people to share the progress. (I found out a few days later it was because of first trimester exhaustion. That is no joke. This baby was making me so sleepy.) You saw us pull out the old deck. Here is the wood for the new one. He started by digging nice big holes to stick posts in to keep the deck stable and up to code. The first framing pieces of the deck. The dogs love to check out our handy work. Here it is attached to the house and ready for decking. First, posts need to be attached for the railing. All done attaching them. F...

Finished

Hi there! You won't believe this.. but the kitchen is done. D.O.N.E.  Jeffery did most of the work, I'm not gonna lie. He started by having me help him move the fridge out to the living room (which was there for wayyyy too long.) I peeled the back off the vinyl tile and he stuck them down to the floor after the primer went on. He grouted and I went behind him with a damp sponge. Then Jeffery lost my memory card so I have no documented progress of him nailing the trim up and painting. (I did sand the trim..) Finished project. I think I'm going to make a curtain out of the fabric the window curtain is made out of for that open cupboard. I tried to replicate the image that was in the relator's ad for the house... my lens isn't quite the same though. Thanks for stopping by!

The Fourth of July

Hi there! Jeffery and I were laying in bed a couple weeks ago and we were talking about things that need to be done around the house. I was getting sick of all the half done projects. Anyway, we chatted a bit and decided to finish everything we had started. This post is going to be all over the place so buckle in and enjoy the ride. Let's start off with finishing the sewing room. It was almost done. I had all the nail holes filled and ready to be sanded for a long time. I was just too lazy (read: busy with other things) to finish sanding and Jeffery refused to do it. He did however put the tape around everything so I could paint... because... anything that needs to be straight is not something I can do very well. The view of my nicely sanded wood filler. First coat of paint.. Aside from the shine you would never know it was painted. That is what I was going for, as I really liked the color the trim came in. Window isn't painted yet. Jeffery was ...
